Washed dishes, washed dishes somewhere else. worked a lawn crew, retail, washed dishes again, McDonald's, retail again, pulled boxes for a warehouse in FL heat, ended up with the federal government and now living a dream with the best non-profit in the conservative movement.

and at 45, I still sometimes miss the pure satisfaction of work that used to leave me physically exhausted.

BTW, I don't say this to be humblebragging or self-congratulatory. It's the story of the vast majority of America (at least where I'm from). It's just to say that manual labor is a good thing and, in my humble opinion, necessary to any man's development.

I worked in a prototype plastic injection mold factory to put myself thru college. Have nothing but great respect for the older guys I worked with, the common sense things in life they taught me, and the way they thought about America and their fellow Americans. Listen to them!

With 70% not having a college degree, that means the vast majority of us are working class. The disdain for the working class (for decades) is a mystery to me and quite frankly it's boring and tiresome.
