I can't say I agree with being a failed nation-state ie Venezuela. However, I am sympathetic to your point. If our politicians are reckless with our money and line the pockets of their buddies, hard to argue against passing that same money back to us.

More specifically, our partisan government is failed. The country will go on, even after our next civil war. That reminds me: buy more ammo.

As long as people work and pay into Social Security after your retirement you still get it. If it goes “bankrupt” it just means you will get less than the current rate today.
