Doesn’t this all boil down to everyone wants what they want and want it all for free?

Attending your DREAM college is now an entitlement. I feel foolish for attending a lower-tier law school on full scholarship. If I'd known that society has a moral obligation to pay my loans, I'd have paid full admission to one of the top tier schools that offered me a seat.

My dream college wouldn’t be one where the students are catapulted into becoming professional debt slaves.

And here I am after going to LWTC... Great career, no debt and I use my accumulated skills daily. People who fell into the College debt trap have no one to blame but themselves, and quite frankly a lot of them don't have the real world skills needed to survive in the market.

Serious Question? Is college overrated? Should the US adopt a more EU style of university where you go to learn a specific skill without the extra junk?

There are even a few places in FL on the water (canal access to Gulf for a boat) for that price, which is amazing considering how much a damn shed in San Francisco costs. I get "location location location" but these are nice homes w/ no crap/needles strewn all over the sidewalks.

The money borrowed went to the colleges that promised them jobs if they got a degree from their college. These kids need to go to the COLLEGES that ripped them off, not Wall Street.

Besides the name recognition, what does she possibly have to offer in terms of being a mentor?

The schools don’t offer loans, the government and banking financial institutions do it by offering Stafford Loans or Pell Grants. But AOC wouldn’t know that, as she got into a good school and a free ride because she’s a Latina, but after grad could only bartend.

Or invest it and make 25K a year.......

Not everyone gets to go to his/ her dream college. This is America. Be thankful for the opportunity. One can always reapply for scholarships, work, (heavens(!) -yes, work,) part-time, go to a state university the 1st year or two!

I live in PA and our school district is top 10 in the state. bought house for 150K back in 2007, mortgage almost paid off, current value close to 400K. i will use the sale of this house as my early retirement and scale down and move to warmer climate.

Employers tie the piece of paper to a job. The dirty secret is that many jobs that supposedly require a college education don’t really require a college education. It’s a predatory racket set up by schools and banks.

That is called a “CHOICE”. Something the left should be familiar with. There are lots of young adults who DON’T go to their dream school, who don’t have their dream wedding if they are footing the bill. It’s a choice. You learn from your choices.

I signed sponsorship agreements in golf to chase my dreams. It was akin to indentured servitude, but if you didn’t have the resources you had no other choice. So it becomes a motivational tool to earn so much you can eliminate sponsors. Many people have had to deal w/similar obst

We also pound it into our kids heads from 5th- 12th grade that college is the only path to success-and that is also wrong.

Not close to any major modes of transportation though!
