My generation is becoming incredibly environmentally conscious. So many of my friends bought metal straws after the huge Instagram campaign about what plastic straws were doing to the turtles.

I use a glass straw at home. It protects your teeth from the acid when drinking lemon water, which I drink every day.Not sure how I feel about metal straws but either way it's all about balance. Let's not shame the plastic straw drinkers who use them responsibly-can be reused too
-
I drink lemon water every morning with apple cider vinegar (mother) and cayenne pepper - thanks for the tip on the straw! I currently just drink out of the glass...

-
Great. Protect your teeth from the acid if you drink lemon water often. I prefer ACV in salads, etc. They sell them on Amazon as 6-pack. The thicker glass straws are less likely to break if you drop them but they can break. Easy to clean. I use these ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IQ3JI3C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 …

Thank you
had ordered some already so hopefully they’re not too thin!

Exactly...you can remain speculative about manmade "global warming" but still want a clean planet, clean drinking water, a safe place for animals and humans to thrive.
-
For the record, I meant sceptical...not speculative.

-
Double for the record, you meant skeptical.

I don’t want to government to force me to drive an EV and I don’t to follow the climate change deception.
-
Me either. The eco-fascists are totally wrong in forcing solutions on others that don’t have near unanimous support. (And if they’ve got that kind of support no forcing necessary) But that doesn’t mean the republicans shouldn’t craft strong positions supporting improvements.

People need to realize that environmentalism and fiscal conservatism go hand in hand. Also property rights provides incentives for good land/air/sea stewardship. You don’t need to be in bed with Al Gore to embrace these concepts.

Climate Change is a scam. Clean air, clean water, clean Earth, natural habitat preservation, etc should be the real focus. But all the attention is taken by the Al Gore scam.

Our air is clean overall. And over 90% of the plastic in the oceans comes from India and China. I don't buy guilt complexes anymore.

They don’t, most people just conflate environmentalism with reducing carbon emissions because that’s the only conversation being held about the environment.

The belief that we are stewards of the Earth and its creatures is fundamentally a conservative idea.

Not environmentalism, my friend; rather, it’s good sound ecology that should be the goal for this great land. We have excellent State Regs for Air emissions. The plastic bags in the ocean come largely, and almost exclusively, from other continents; not from America.

I don't think most conservatives would say they want dirty air and water and are OK with bags in the ocean. Now I think there is quite a difference between that and the liberals using it as another excuse to grab power and create a ridiculous carbon tax.
-
YES! LIKE HB2020 IN OREGON! It creates a $600 million tax hike, increases in the costs of all goods & services, a miniscule effect on carbon emissions, & revenue generated by this tax will most likely be used for legislator's pet projects, NO ON HB2020!
