In the U.S., WWII-era detainment of Japanese Americans called “internment camps.” Nazis used “concentration camps.” These are how terms are taught and used and everyone defending AOC knows it. If you wonder why we don’t care it Trump lies, today showed answer. Media lies more.https://twitter.com/Cernovich/status/1141222142194753536 …

Before today “concentration camp” had a clear contextual understanding and was almost exclusively associated with the Holocaust. Nearly every related search on Google was for Nazis and the Holocaust. If you’re defending AOC, you’re a fraud. pic.twitter.com/XHngOpYrBH

Yes, the US has had “concentration camps” before, in so many words. To say otherwise is to show how little one knows about the Holocaust.

If an arena has 6,000 seats and the President said ‘we have 7,000 people here’ the press would say ‘he just lied 1,000 times’

This defense of @AOC’s “concentration camps” reference reminds me of all the media and celebrities rushing to the mics in 2008 to tell us that, like Obama, “Jesus Christ was also a community organizer.” This is quintessential hackery.

Maybe the word you're after is "extermination camp". Concentration camps have been used by several governments throughout history to incarcerate people.

This is once again a rush to sensationalize and give room to absurd comments. The amount of media given to individuals of mediocre intellect such as @AOC, will end the minute they find a new, more ridiculous and ignorant pet.

The only other use of "concentration camps" is in reference to the Boer War in South Africa. That AOC might be making reference to those camps stretches all credibility. Besides no-one refers to the Boer War and says "Never Again".
