Before today “concentration camp” had a clear contextual understanding and was almost exclusively associated with the Holocaust. Nearly every related search on Google was for Nazis and the Holocaust. If you’re defending AOC, you’re a fraud.pic.twitter.com/XHngOpYrBH

I'll broadly defend the rhetoric somewhat. The left aren't so much comparing what is NOW with what was at the END of Nazi Germany. Rather highlighting steps toward such an outcome, as you do with communism. If we rail against terms like "cockroach" or "plague / invasion" ... 1/

we're not saying the conditions now are exactly like killing 6 million jews, we're saying dehumanising language was a step towards making that possible and to be careful. I think honesty from your (all) side would helping by not stramanning it to mean it's a direct comparison 2/2

If that’s the case, then you must agree that a wall should be constructed to protect people from these “concentration camps”?
-
I’m pro border*. Pro controlled immigration. Anti-illegal entry. AND Anti inhumane treatment of illegal entrants caught near the border. Anti scapegoating of such for our own failings. (* actual wall too expensive and ineffective, just a political tool)

so If you call them something else they arent a concentration camp, perhaps you can call the current ones "freedom camps" or something then they'll be totally ok. Also concentration camps existed before WW2 germany, My country got there earlier https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_concentration_camps …

yeah I can't imagine why the US government would prefer the term internment camps over concentration camps for the ones they did

What;s going on now is worse than the internment camps, in that families there were kept together,

And neither are still the same. With FDR camp's it was Americans who couldn't leave. With current Immigration, literally anyone can leave provided they go back.
