I worked for a state dept. on dom. violence & sexual assault. It oversaw disbursement of grants to asstd. shelters & agencies. The data tech was often told ‘his data’ needed to be changed because ‘it didn’t reflect ‘the right numbers’ and to omit info about assaults on men.

I can think of two reasons why a man wouldn't call the police 1. Shame 2. He doesn't want to get his wife or girlfriend in trouble.

I was spit on, had lit cigarettes thrown at me, my cd collection was destroyed.... I never thought it was abuse because in my mind “men can’t be abused”. Once we parted ways it became frightening how much abuse I took and how it hindered growth. Male abuse is common.

a friend of mine is getting a private no fault divorce. truth is his tiny wife used to beat him a lot and he never fought back. she gave him an ultimatum about having a kid or break up, he chose breakup.
