I just got Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O, and am still reading Quicksilver. Will be a while till I catch up to get onto Fall Look forward to the review.

Diamond Age is more fanciful than K. Eric Drexler's "Engines of Creation." Have you read "Engines"? Stephenson stated that his goal for Diamond Age was to write a sci-fi novel consistent with Engines. So, he's aware of what the scientists are predicting will happen in drier prose
