My bet is that it attracts them... No empirical data for that but my experience has been those in tech embracing (as distinct from tolerating) woke bs are the same ones who set off my "creepy guy--keep away from the vulnerable!" detector.

Both are possible. If it attracts them however they must find cases of them doing it before becoming PC reporters Otherwise we need to argue if there is something in PC media which triggers the behavior I get the impression they feel entitled and superior to everyone else.
