Euthanasia might not have been used in this case but the culture of euthanasia still helped lead to this girl’s death.

I’ve seen the word ‘Euthanasia’ more times in the past few days than I have in years, and all it reminds me of is the David Sedaris story “Youth In Asia” in ‘Me Talk Pretty One Day’

I'm not sure in the U.S. if they would permit an otherwise physically healthy underage girl to starve herself to death, though.

So, is she alive? I think she is dead. She died at her home by choosing to reject food and water until she died. In the US, she would have been Baker Acted and held in protective custody in a hospital where she would have had treatment forced on her against her "wishes".

She was a minor; She wanted to die; her parents did not intervene in this horrific disorder (research what anorexia is at its root cause); they allowed and enabled her death...bad decisions

The protocol for a MINOR CHILD would be serious psychiatric therapy and, if necessary, a feeding tube...high calorie intake, ensure etc. it’s a terrible disorder but curable. Parents abdicated their duty.

They let her die. That is probably even worse. A mentally disturbed person should not be permitted to die from dehydration. So much life to live. A tragedy on so many levels.
