any 90's comedian is a genius compared to the utter debilitating, depressing, conformist dross that we are forced to tolerate today.

No one has topped Patrice O’Neal in his prime. Bill Burr’s MMPC’s were good. Modern comedy is either PC / social justice, or is “muscle man makes faces and grunts on stage.”

#Reality: Bill Hicks was an unbelievable comedian who inspired a generation of comedians and he was taken from us too soon.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Bill Hicks is cringy in general. I've never been a fan. If he lived in the modern world he'd be the poster child for Fedora-core.

Bill Hicks is why we all know who Denis Leary is as Denis ripped a bunch of material from Billhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ViPNcuknyd8 …

Captain Semantics over here, “I like him but hmmm, I wouldn’t classify it as comedy”. Big Yawn - BTW Bill Hicks was fucking awesome and funny as hell. He would be the most interest person on Twitter were he alive

Yeah I pretty much agree. There are times when he was very funny but at his best he was insightful and made you think more than anything

He was really more of a performance artist. I was introduced to him via Tool (the amazing band). Anecdote: at a show he told the crowd he lost a contact lens and people actually stopped and looked around to see if they could find it. That is pretty genius shit.

Watching clips of Bill Hicks I don’t agree with much of his opinions but I give him credit for saying something instead of regurgitating other people’s talking points.

To me, he was a very interesting guy to listen to, but I have no idea how anyone found him hilarious. Still find him preferable to late-career George Carlin and his hateful old man rants as 'comedy' though

His skill in physical comedy is rare and exceptional, however. I didn't realize this, listening to his rants in college off of Napster, until I finally saw videos of his specials. It's a whole extra dimension to what he did.

More a commentator than a laugh out loud guy like Eddie Murphy but found him through Tool and both were key in learning to question the status quo.

Preacher without a parish. Blackpilled. Master of the stage and banter. Never got a following unfortunately. Mediocre if your counting beats, unforgettable if you pay attention to the context.
