“Conservatives” do hard news. It’s just that the MSM won’t hire them or air their reporting. In fact, they work to discredit them. Laura Southern, Sara Carter, Sharyl Attkisson, Project Veritas and John Solomon are just a few that come to mind.
With some exceptions, there are almost no conservative reporters. Left wing media breaks a story, conservatives respond. I understand most aspects of media, but not this. Why do conservatives all want to commentate rather than do hard news?

We are in a personality/influencer driven media environment So it would take really remarkable combo journalist-influencers to make it work for-profit

There’s really nowhere for a conservative reporter to go and make a living. Even on social media they are banned. They could be the best reporter ever but it wouldn’t make a difference without a platform

Good point, I have empirical support. I took a journalism class during the election and right after Trump miraculously got elected the course theme switched. It went from “morals and ethics of journalism” to “how Trump is going to ruin journalism” real quick.
