As a kid my socks had to be lined up a certain way; could feel the stitches, and tags on shirts were a menace. Had to have them ripped out. With my own daughter, I see it already. She gets super hyped and then slight stutters. People who didn’t grow up gifted or read Dabrowski would think “stutter,” but it’s actually Overexciteability. And you deal with it with breath control and other methods.

My 5 year old is like that. She gets so excited about stuff that she can't get the words out fast enough and gets that slight stutter as her mouth tries to catch up with her brain. Haha when I ask why she's so amped she even says, "I'm just so excited right now!"

My son would twitch his eyes. Our pediatrician told us it was his way of dealing with a stressful situation. He said we were lucky to have an external indicator when something was wrong. We talked through every event and learned a lot about his fears of failure.
