When feeling burnout coming (be mindful of signs and symptoms), - Drop caffeine cold turkey. Yes, this sucks, you'll have headaches and feel completely drained for 48 to 72 hours. 8 years ago, due to a serious caffeine habit, it took me two weeks to full withdraw.

One response when talking about "burnout" is the tough guys talking about how grandpa at the dock never felt it. Which is bullshit. Many bars operated at mini banks to cash checks on payday. Alcoholism / self- medication was prevalent, as were many other issues.

Everything has gotten thrown off for the American working class. Women’s expectations of life have gotten warped, men have been browbeaten to be soft and employers rarely make long term commitments to employees. Add it all up and it’s a big mess.

Yeah. Burnout is a train wreck to experience the first couple times. I've learned the hard way how to manage much of it.

In the old days, men knew that their job was no fun but they sucked it up and took crap to take care of their families. Today we are supposed to be fulfilled by our 80 hour a week slave job and forget about having any family at all.
