It absolutely HAD to be Jon Snow. How do you build up all that tension between the two, and let someone else take the glory. Jon's ending was ridiculous, and I feel like his character was soyified this season.

GOT was perfection, until series 8. Then it literally list the plot.

Read the books didn't watch the show. It seems like they knew what people thought would happen (Arya kills Cersai Dany or Jon win GOT) and then decided to do something no one would guess because it was too stupid to guess.

That's the whole problem, it wan't setup. Think about Ned and Rob Stark deaths. They were both "out of nowhere", and completely inevitable. It is the setup, NOT the outcome, that make a story.

Yeah, I liked the ending. Finishing north of the wall brought it full circle like how it started and with it's own character arc.
