Last time there was a shutdown, Republicans took the Senate. It depends if the House and President had a budget passed and who, in the Senate, shut it down. Act Blue had a $1 billion money bomb for House elections - but didn't win any red districts.

It was pretty easy to “whoop him” for shut down because he publicly admitted he will accept responsibility even though he attempted to flip the script a couple days later. But we all know you’re smart enough to understand the actual nuances of the shutdown, right?
