Yep. Same simple reason investing monthly in a 401k works. Dollar cost averaging. Sometimes simple is best.

Holding long-term can work the exact same way. Look at Enron and Worldcom for good examples. Look at Tesla if you don’t see how important timing is.

Especially true in volatile sectors such as bitcoin or gold. Emotions take over if you don't time your entry right and suffer a big drawdown. You then end up panic selling at the bottom. But using cycles and sentiment to identify entry points has been very useful for me.
