I believe most people are oblivious but that this wasn't immediately apparent the the DNC itself is unfathomable. I've waiting since election night 2016 for them to coarse correct but they keep doubling down.

That the whole thing is seen in a simplistic Left-Right divide and that we implicitly glorify a fallacious moderation for moderation's sake is rather the bigger problem, if you ask me. Right is not Right, and Left is not Left. Right is right, and wrong is wrong.

I disagree based upon the incredible work ethic Trump has with the multiple base meetings per month drawing in his supporters and controlling his message rather than allowing groups or other campaign machines run his message. The base is not drifting, they are right on message.

We can thank the world for targeting right wing extremism. It’ll be interesting when the US is exposed as the only country not doing anything about it.
