He gets hate because he dresses up basic prosperity hustle in Christianity. If he were just a motivational speaker he would get no hate. It's his exploitation of the religious angle that is a problem.
I listened to some Joel Osteen radio, his message is upbeat and positive. Too generic for me but valuable for normies. That Osteen gets hate shows that anyone successful will have haters.

Mike, he is a false teacher...and fleeces the flock by promoting a false gospel...and will be severely judged by God in the end. Spiritual discernment is required. I want the truth in love not spiritual poison sugar coated lies.

Love the guy~ and the family. His brother is traveling the Wold operating on usually babies & kid but all for FREE. They all have hearts of Gold & are prayer warriors for the masses. And what you say is correct. I’ll add that Christian-Haters are up in numbers these days

My disdain for him is entirely personal and selfish - I don’t like those who over-simplify things, especially Christianity, but I’m attached. Everyone else in here is too, but there are certainly far, far worse than Osteen. He’s not worth hating - unnecessary negativity.
