Risk management. Trying to start a small business isn’t worth ending up homeless. Spouse with steady job makes failing a 3-5 year set back in your career.

Almost is the important part. My brother became a millionaire all on his own. From going to jail and living in a boiler room to a multimillionaire. Not everyone has that silver spoon in their mouth.

It's called bankruptcy

It does, its called welfare, SS and Medicaid & they (& other programs like them) are abused to the moon. They also account for more than 60% of federal spending. But muh UBI.

We fool ourselves when we think we have any safety especially if it comes from government. Life itself is unsafe, ultimately we only have ourselves and God.

People who succeeded in life and young people must help the unsuccessful and old people.
