A law student thought it would be funny to join a harassment campaign against my wife and daughter. So I reported him to the school's Title IX office. Mandatory flag of his online behavior. Those of you who aren't full-time trolls really should behave more responsibly.

Former attorney here. When the student files their “Intent to Sit For the Bar Exam” the administering state bar does a background check that routinely examines the online presence of applicants. Anything reflecting “lack of moral fitness or character” will result in a denial.

Pft. You'd be surprised the stuff people have in their backgrounds and still get barred.

Man, I know a former Texas police officer (retired) who was a convicted felon in New Mexico.

A girl in my class was indicted and pleaded out for check fraud for cashing the social security checks of the deceased prior tenant of her apartment... In her third year of law school. Ended up getting barred in NY and LA

Fraud by definition is a crime or “moral turpitude”. It’s deception plain and simple. It’s the word the bar uses instead of felony or misdemeanor. I’ve turped, and I’ve tuded, but I’ve never turp-tuded.

Nice. You’d think by the time you get to college you’d know actions have consequences.

Honestly, I think most full grown adults are just starting to learn about this, in our entirely new era of social media and social justice.

When will kids these days realize that their "public" actions will not only never go away.... they are searchable for eternity. Sorry you are going through this. Got your back. ;)

What he did was incredibly stupid, considering he wants to hold a law license eventually. They're pretty upfront in law school about how hard core the ethics requirements are.
