I would think the provenance of the recording matters from a legal standpoint. If it was given to you, then you are in the clear as a reporter yourself. If you made the recording, it might have been illegal to make it, or if you had agreed it was off the record.

I think HuffingPaint Post should be asked about it once released too. Too many times things like this happens - but it just get buried by the MSM.

Surely a recorded death threat against a child is prosecutable.
