Holy crap who thought this was a good idea?

I work in #MentalHealth. It's a weird ad. I get the sentiment. It's okay to not be okay. Fine. But you can't romanticize it and profit from it. Food isn't going to cure depression.

Good Food or Food served fast. Most Definitely. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. All the Marketing gimmicks in the world won’t do that.

I don’t see Burger King lasting much longer anyway. Other than the Whopper (which is phenomenal), they really offer nothing else that stands out.

This is such a weird advert - what were they thinking about when they put it together? I agree that associating negative emotions with your brand is not a good idea. It’s not making me want to go to BK, just makes me either feel sad or think “f it, just eat a burger”

I'd love to be a fly on the wall during the pitch meeting and screening. What a case study this will be

1st, I was expecting... “Happy Meal” to be the punchline, but no. It’s Burger King. Odd. 2nd, this just promotes comfort eating, which is a very bad message. 3rd, this junk food probably contributes to depression an apathy. (Refined sugars and vegetables oils).

Burger King is gross. I can’t believe they are still in business. So many better fast food alternatives!

I dunno, there’s a big chunk of people who feel good about their pain/depression/anxiety. It will be interesting to see if they take the bait.

This used to be the case but it’s seems in today’s day and age having depression is a modern day badge of honor. BK trying to win some brownie points. The game has changed. Besides that this ad is effective, you interacted with it and brought it to a larger audience. They won

If Burger King wants to improve their business they should improve their food and service. Appealing to the woke crowd is a waste of time and money when your product is inferior.
