This is great news - this is the start of what will end with worldwide adoption of Bitcoin.

What's interesting is that " the mark of the best" is described in language that doesn't seem to indicate a physical mark. But the bit about the right hand and forehead mean essentially "thought and deed." Which fits.

I have read that some are likening it to the implanting of an electronic chip, that can then be scanned. Apparently some big firms are already doing this to their staff.

That's been a common interpretation. But as @msheiser points out, if you read it through the lens of an an ancient near east mindset, which is how it was written, it means how you behave and think, basically. Feel free to tell me i got it wrong, Dr. Heiser.

If one is a believer it would be important to note that the powers and principalities would have a vested interest in creating or allowing multiple different false manifestations of the prediction. Better to have people thinking they've already beaten the mark only to fall for it

All of this to say, i don't think a chip is sinister enough to fulfill that prophecy. Also: why couldn't i think of the phrase to fulfill prophecy in the last tweet? Grr
