EVERYBODY in latin-america is a socialist. The difference is who's more and who's less but we are all big-government socialists. I don't agree that Guaido is the same disaster as Maduro. Progressive socialists welcome int'l investments and trade. Maduro's like do not

My own Venezuelan family and friends argue with me because I advocate for smaller government. "And what about free education (including higher) and health for the people?" It is not sustainable I tell them, at which point I am called a savage-capitalist with no heart
-
So they don’t think that capitalism with safety nets are good? Making things “free” ultimately make them more expensive and less quality down the line
-
They do undrstn that nothing is free & that competition is best, at least until u tell them that public programs are gone, they don’t like it then. That’s what I mean that we are all socialists by culture & heritage but don’t know it. I didn’t until I moved to the US

True, but I hear Guaido is slightly less bad than Maduro.
-
Who’d you hear that from? The CIA or nah?

Wow...I was just telling someone that Guaido has Obama characteristics. Watch him in an interview. He even resembles Obama & I mean this in the sense that he's shrewd. You get the impression that he could pivot in any direction & find ways to stay on message.

Yeah, either way they're not turning around from what I've seen. If Guaido "wins" it'll be just like this in 4-6 more years. This is not an Italy or Brazil.

Their people wanted socialism. They created this, they are the only ones who can fix it. It will be ugly and take time, but it is their job to do. If they aren't willing to fight to improve things then they will just have to live with the bad situation they created.

True, most politicians in South America are socialists. Some are worse, so it’s a crapshoot.

Guaidò aligns himself with Bolsonaro of Brazil, he wants to privatize all resources once he gets control of the country - not socialist
