It’s an empirical fact that the U.S. could not win a Great War without nuclear weapons. 75% of men are ineligible to serve due to obesity or criminal conviction. Read the report “Unfit to Fight.” But the generals all worried about issues like trans and women in Ranger school.https://twitter.com/35boat/status/1121831521529233411 …

You wonder if today’s USA could handle those kind of WW2 casualties numbers, let alone the death #s from the Civil War in 4 years of fighting.

We don’t have enough men to win a non-nuclear war. Generals are a bunch of wimps focused on marginal issues like women in Ranger school and trans soldiers, rather than legitimate issues like this ⬇️https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/10/10/americas-obesity-is-threatening-national-security-according-to-this-study/ …

But, from an economic stand point, if we were to start outlawing/banning/taxing 'sugar drinks' or 'candy bars' then how does that NOT also hurt the domestic US producer side of the economy. Demand creates its own supply. But if there is no supply - then no revenue, no taxes, etc.

Once China and/or Russia get countermeasure-resistant hypersonic missiles that can neutralize America's aircraft carriers that's all she wrote as far as US force projection around the world if it interferes with their interests.

Instead of disqualifying people above a certain body mass threshold why not accept them & send them to “preboot camp” training where it is based on getting those individuals in shape & teaching them skills like, mechanics, construction, tech, or other military necessary skills.

Those individuals have shown they are wanting to enlist so we need to find a way of improving them instead of rejecting them. It’s an overall benefit to the country. Less people are over weight & more people are enlisted.

I'm not sure about that decline yet. We have a lot of fancy force multipliers and would inflict disproportional losses on a conventional military - especially in the early stages of a conflict. We also have unmatched logistics and basing to keep the fancy tech supplied.
