Oh it definitely fits the current definition of socialism. It's just that the left has altered the meaning of what socialism is to keep themselves relevant.

Well it's direct investment in a corporate industrial entity autonomous to the government, which is dirigism. Which is... Fascist.

No, the Federal Gov owns the Property, & foreign producers like BP, and Shell make vast billions and pay fees to the owner, the USA, who splits with the State some of the FEES? Does Cernovich prefer a RUSSIAN / Soviet OLIGOP economic plan? Cernovich is Insane., he is clueless.@.pic.twitter.com/4LUNbPEBGh

Charging a private company a fee to take oil isn’t socialism. If he created a state owned oil company that would be socialism
-
An O&G company has drilled wells on my land. They pay me 30% of what they pull out and will put the land back to what it was like before, after they cap the well. I guess I’m a socialist according to Cerno. Lol

Are the Oil rigs owned by the State? Is that even legal?
-
And if they are owned by the State, then the only way to classify it would be as a Socialist situation. Government owning businesses...
-
Technically I think the state "owns" the minerals as a public good and extracts their share via excise taxes. Which, yes, socialism. Huey long got really popular around here with that money.

Didn't the oil and gas industry devastate the wetlands so when the hurricane happened there was no natural defense left to speak of?
