Louisiana will receive nearly $100M from offshore oil and gas revenues to invest in coastal restoration and hurricane protection projects. American energy dominance and a robust energy strategy in the Gulf are critical to our coastal restoration efforts! https://cards.twitter.com/cards/18ce53wao2g/79fit …

Oil companies cut thousands of straight canals through fragile wetlands for decades, accelerating coastal erosion. Louisiana does not receive royalties like inland states. Not socialism, just back pay.

I'm sure these oil and gas companies willingly decided to hand over hundreds of millions of dollars for this...there was totally no you scratch my back I'll scratch your back and we will leave you alone shortly after the checks have cleared

Depends on why it's being recieved. Much like the Alaska oil money. If it's because of a deal the state made then no. If the Government forced this on companies afterwards then yes.

I don’t think so b/c offshore platforms use pipelines that cut through the marsh. When there are cuts in the marsh, more errorison occurs. They should pay into a reclamation project to repair damaged marsh due to pipelines and oil leaks from the platforms.

Louisiana does not receive royalties from offshore activities in its waters. This is a sort of a reparation.

Depends on who's doing the spending. If oil companies are the ones investing, it's their money to do so, and good for them for doing it

Depends how you frame it. People of Louisiana own the oil. Government doesnt drill wells. So there needs to be a partnership. So no. Doesnt sound like socialism. Norway has a 1 Trillion dollar sovereign wealth fund. Louisiana and Texas should too. Can then zero taxes.
