And this right here is a perfect example of the gap between older and younger conservatives. I hear that all the time & yet Boomers wonder why millennials are turning towards socialism. What solutions are the Republicans offering in regards to rising tuition costs and debt?

Only thing I can agree with Boomers on is not getting a useless degree. Going to college is an investment. If you want a good paying job with options, you need to make sure your degree has a good ROI. But even with that, colleges are raping our youth with their tuition costs.

Trade schools!
@mikeroweworks is a hero for the work he does, but it's gotta become way more prevalent -
I agree 100% and I think it’s a career path that is certainly underrated. Unfortunately, even the cost of going to certain trade schools is starting to get out of control.

I saved for 20 years to send my kids to a state school. Where do I get my money back?
-
Do you know that there are accredited colleges you can attend that only cost $2500 per semester? It is easy to work your way through school if you pick the right one.

My Dad went to Brown University, '78-82, and the whole thing, start to finish was $2,900. My books were $2900 right now.

I chose not to attend college. I built my skills and reputation working for pennies and established myself (not unique). Why should my tax dollars go to pay for my peers recklessness? Predatory tactics notwithstanding? If they want to use Harvard money, go ahead.

I'm paying for college by working nearly full time (construction materials testing) while going to engineering school. Graduating in less than 3 weeks though.
