Take away the endowments of universities to pay for it then. Or are we at risk of disincentivizing billionaires from giving big donations to already wealthy universities for tax write offs? The tragedy.

Or maybe address the actual problem? It has nothing to do with the cost directly, more that most people have been lied to and told they need a college education. The supply and demand metric is being messed with, often for useless degrees, all while the trades scream for workers.
