"Experts" have been saying this about Japan for *decades*. Meanwhile everyone who isn't an "expert" goes to Japan and comes back to the U.S. - Japan is clean - Futuristic - Organized and civil No one visits the U.S. and says, "Now this country is the future!"https://twitter.com/TPCarney/status/1115205236971462656 …

Japan with its eastern philosphy has maintained its cultural norms. Western philosophy and its post modernism has ruined the west, we've lost our way.

China, Japan, and Korea all will have a tremendous competitive advantage in the future because of their homogeneous populations. Debating public policy and politics in Europe and America now is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

It is a weird hysteria to think that a declining birth rate requires population replacement. Japan has some challenges, but it will meet them without indulging in the Western fantasy of cultural suicide.

Japan is an amazing country for the reasons you mentioned. It also has an incredibly conformist xenophobic culture that is bizarre to many in the West. SE Asians are over the top chatty, while in Japan it’s the exact opposite. One barely needs to interact with humans there.

Love for one’s country isn’t hate of others. I have never met more polite and gentle people than the Japanese. They have reverence for their nation and history, as any other sane nation on Earth should.

I agree. However, as a proud American mutt, I’ll admit my bias for a more multi-ethno/cultural approach. To each, their own.

Why losing your culture to have others come here and impose theirs while their own countries are alive and well? This terrible evolution is only occurring in the US and a few other white countries. Cultural and demographic genocide

Imagine you've fucked up the economy so much that the very best among your citizens are delaying starting families, and your resopnse isn't "let's see how we can encourage our citizens to start families" but instead "whoops running out of cheap labor, better import more!"
