As a daughter who tried to buy my father a car when he was depressed, this hits home. Now as a single mother, my son just turned 10 today, no way is he going to be burdened by me. The kid in this article doesn’t have parents. He’s raising himself.

I wondered why the single mom didn't buy her own car. If her kid could do it, what was holding her back?

The first of many problems with this story: As everyone knows, it's a really good idea to enter into a contract to sell a car to a 13 year-old, it's not like it's entirely voidable or anything.
-
I have a feeling that is why the mother was driven to the vehicle and signed the paperwork mentioned in the article.

1)Who makes a kid give over his Xbox for a 20-year-old car? It's not worth a couple hundred bucks. The yard work would be enough. 2)Why can't his mom work for herself, why no car? 3)Who's paying title xfer, plate/tag, tax, insurance? 4)Whose valid DL? 5)Hoax for sympathy? Gofund?

# 3 is the key in all of this

People are powerful when they choose to be. Families are the core building block of society - something progressives are furiously trying to undo. It’s refreshing to read about individuals overcoming self-interest.

You have to give the kid credit for hustling to do that for his mom, but his mom should not have to even put her kid in that situation. He could have been hustling for himself to buy a car when he's 16

Sounds lovely BUT shouldn't she be taking care of him?

boy works hard to help his mama (toxic masculinity) and trades his xbox for car his mamma needs (much more productive for young ones to be learning entrepreneurship than gaming), don't even get me started on boys need daddies

This has the potential to cause resentment in the son of the mother; if said mother is irresponsible or careless with the car itself. I am still not sure of the circumstances that lead up to this. Props to the son for this selfless act.

This is why we need massive deportations and immediate action on immigration. This kid is the future we should protect. Trump needs to give this kid a retweet
