Can someone explain to me what's the point of "recognizing" historical events? Not trying to be confrontational. It seems like the same thing the SJWs do with slavery/imperialism etc. to make themselves feel better when it (literally) does nothing.

It was a general Genocide of all Rum Millet Orthodox Christians, not the "Armenians." In all, more than 5 million were killed, of whome 1.5 million were Armenians.
