When someone subscribes to your YouTube page, here is what you don't get - Customer name / interests - Their email or way to contact them - A database to download There has to be a better way for creators.

You gotta drive viewers to signup for notifications and give them something in return (free book/video etc.) for doing so... make this a single call to action in all your videos (at beginning and/or end if you want them to watch the video) and in the description of every video.

Live stream on YouTube but put the replay behind a free membership site. Vimeo plus DAP and you have a platform to grow w/over time.

The vast majority of Youtube channels are wackos and nutjobs. So if I DO watch someone they need to be glad they have a platform to get their word out to many people from a single venue - something I don't have. No offense intended.

I will flip through my subscribed list and there’s always five to ten channels that I defiantly did not subscribe to. Idk if it’s just bc I’m pocket dialing/subscribing or if YouTube is just broke

You get a retargeting list of those same people which you can use for super cheap/hyper targeted ads. Sure it costs a bit of additional money, but you can get all the things you mentioned.
