I have always felt that the bigger hoax was the unemployment figures, which are manipulated through workforce participation denominator.

When basic needs are attended to - heating, fresh water, secure food source - my idea of a good economy is mobility - opputunites to engage in commerce and earning potentials along the typical bell curve distribution. In terms of absolute material wealth, we all live like kings.
