Jesus Christ, that's an overstatement. Most conservatives I know grew up with nothing or next to nothing and made it on their own, that's why they are conservatives. Most inherited wealth is gone in two to three generations.

I'm conservative, and I grew up "poor." Passed out from not eating enough. Loving home. Just dirt poor. Still conservative. Now I make decent $$ through painstaking hardship and work. Thanks to the FREE MARKET society that we live in.

Both my parents worked and we still had "food stamps" sometimes. I know poor and I also know about working poor, and still understanding conservatism.

I grew up poor as well. There is a healthy, middle-ground. Says just me ~

I agree! The middle ground will get bigger and healthier when we pull all the radicals away from the cliff edge.

Practically every single conservative that I know (myself included) grew up poor and our families grew up poor. But I/we never expected or felt entitled to anything from the government.

I grew up poor and I have never blamed it or used it as some excuse to make me feel better than others because I was down for the struggle. I'm Conservative and most of my conservative friends growing up were poor too.

Very interesting statement. I first heard it from Steve Bannon. Long term I believe it is untrue but for the short term - say the next 20 years - it may very well prove to be the case.

It's mind boggling to realize so many Republicans in Congress don't give a damn about the Sovereignty of our Country. They have absolutely no Integrity.

99% of conservatives are rich? Pretty sure that's inaccurate.

False choice. All dictatorships ultimately lead to a disaster regardless of their political flavour. What really matters is whether the powerful trend of centralization can be reversed before you have a totalitarian state; not the guise under which it happens.
