I wouldn’t consider myself a “weak” guy but the first time I received one of those messages, I was trembling a bit. Luckily, i quickly googled.

My aging cousin got roped in for $8000 from one of them. Never got justice before he died last year.

So sorry to hear this. Keep repeating so others will see how harmful these scams are. I have an elderly neighbor that calls every time scammers call to say there’s a problem w her computer—she’s terrified of doing the wrong thing.

A large majority of the IRS call (and tech support, comcast, bank, etc etc) scammers are in India. Unless you want to invade a country halfway around the world, arresting them really isn't an option. But if they're in the US, they should be crushed.
