The media built up Putin from nothing. He went from unemployed ex-KGB secret police officer (not a "master spy"), to taxi driver, to head of running hard currency operations for the St. Petersburg city government. Then he went to Moscow, where his legend began.

The dude can take his shirt off and get the media to give him wall to wall coverage. He knows this and takes full advantage.Guarantee he never realized it would be that easy. “I’ll take my shirt off, ride a horse and do what ever I want in the meantime with 0 coverage.

Just like they built Trump’s brand, hoping ‘I’m With Her’ Highness would walk all over him in 2016. The Media is also the enemy of themselves.

He is portrayed that way because he has done a lot for Russia. People really have no idea how bad Russia was in the 90’s and 00’s. Criminal organizations literally owned over 50% of the economy back then. Putin is a corrupt prick, but he’s accomplished 10x more than most leaders.
