SEO has changed a lot. It used to be that niche blogs with deep content would rank highest in Google results. Then big media companies complained, and now huge sites end up on page 1 even for thin content. This site was top niche site years ago.http://fit-juice.com/

SEO used to be about backlinks - websites linking to you. Then it became about content. Long articles with original content and images ranked highly. But then established media companies couldn't rank for key words like "green juice." With push of button, it all changed.

Deep content - long articles on a niche site. Thin content - a short video on "protein smoothie." Media companies like Business Insider cried as they couldn't compete, they wanted to capitalize on every trend even though they had no expertise. Google rigged the algo for them.
