I didn’t grow up poor but still used the old containers as Tupperware since it was convenient, also used them to wash the dog in the shower.

My Oma used that for everything, everytime she had leftovers she'd bring out 5 containers to use Tupperware.

Resourceful and not wasteful with your stuff.

I wasn't raised poor... but my parents were and butter containers, mayo jars were still part of life. their word was frugal

I still use old butter containers etc - and I can well afford to buy commercial plasticware. They're handy, and free - and come in all sorts of sizes.

Yep. Cause Tupperware was too damn pricey.

My friends mom had bbq sauce in a yogurt container on time. We opened it expecting yogurt and that sauce spilled everywhere she was so pissed.

I remember scraping of the mold on the Country Crock, and using what’s left on the bottom because “it was still good, don’t waste food”. And to this day I’ve never had so much as a stomachache
