I dug through trash bins for aluminum cans, they went for 52 cents a pound. You have no idea what you’re writing about. You’re a rich kid (mom was Colbert Report producer) trying to get street cred tho you never struggled. https://twitter.com/CharlotteAlter/status/1108699246088409088 …

I was never poor, but I still use margarine containers for Tupperware. Also have one of the margarine containers designed to be reused as a cereal bowl. Thank you for calling out the class appropriation of those on the left.

We had to run across the street to our neighbor's house to get buckets of water to flush our toilets when mom couldn't afford the water bill..... I feel so so sorry for this big whiny idiot! Prosperity IS having a roof over your head, warm blankets in your bed...pathetic

I feel that. My dad grew up poor in a broken home. Didn't like talking about it. After he made it big and started donating to
@SalvationArmyUS I asked why them He paused seemed choked up & said. "They fed me". He had to leave the room never liked anyone seeing him cry - 1 more reply

What's really funny is how long it takes to learn how to not be a poor person at least for some of us. I was earning a six figure salary while driving a beater and had no credit because I never tried to, and blowing a lot of money on frivolous stuff for a long time.

We “saved” bacon grease in an old coffee tin to use later as the no-stick solution for our frying pans. This tin never fully emptied which means the grease at the bottom was lord knows how many years old.

Grew up 1 of 6, catholic Air Force family for 21 years. Dad retired at 55, mom worked as a teacher/ Principal. They scrimped and saved, so that we could get an education and inheritance. Fast forward many years...I’m in the top 3%. Folks who grew up ‘poor’ are the best tippers
