If you're on "the right" (whatever that means), and you're a big name, the media is looking for ways to frame you for shit you had no part in. You know this is the game, so don't give them anything to hang you with. Make them work for it.
If you're on "the left," you can be just a "media personality." - Multiple mass shooters were fans of the Young Turks. You never hear about that, did you? If you have right wing views, you're immediately anointed as some leader. It is unfair but such is life. Cry more.
Elliot Rodger was a huge fan of The Young Turks. No one blamed TYT for his terrorist attack. Arcan Cetin of the Cascade Mall attack also a TYT fan. Does the angry, genocide-denying rhetoric of TYT cause mass shootings? Not one person in the media dared to ask.
Censoring big names probably has less impact than censoring the millions of regular people on “the right” on social media.
It'll be interesting to see some of those so called "alt right" people claim to be on the left. They can't really say someone's right leaning when the individual says they're a leftist, can they? If not, then it's seems to be easier to change gender than change political views.
