No. I'm not sure if my opinion would be different if we never had the 2nd Amendment, but since we do, prohibiting the sale of such weapons makes people vulnerable to oppressive regime and sets a precedent for our other rights and freedoms to be further infringed.
Should future sales of AR-15’s and similar style weapons be prohibited? Vote and then explain why.

When people are armed, the govermment has more of an incentive to respect them. Also, if there were to be a violent invasion upon our soil, people could protect themselves while waiting for further assistance.

Yes, nobody needs to own an AR-15. The right to bear arms is not unbounded. Why am I not allowed to own a functioning missile launcher?

Because the vast majority of murders are committed by handguns, not semi-automatic weapons. But the left won't say "ban all weapons" because they know they will lose. If they can manage to "take an inch" they'll eventually come after other guns too. They won't stop here.
