  IMO the focus is "all" on the parents in offering the bribes. I believe the focus should be on the people at the colleges who ACCEPTED the bribes. If they had refused the bribes this is a non-story.

  Marin Academy is arguably the most prestigious school in the county. So small and elite that most kids who attended public high school in Marin don't even know it exists. All 3 of those parents have kids at Marin Academy.
