Let's talk for a bit why many people are often perplexed by my social media. The truth is, no one does it like I do, for better and worse. Most "personalities" link to their stuff + "engage" with high profile people, mutual happy endings. As for me....Here's my thinking....

Because I read your comments, this is a two-way street. Readers choose writers, but writers can choose readers. If your energy seems toxic or has a negative vibration, I block. People aren't used to that. People are used to having people beg for their attention.

Usually the comments are 90% +++. Sometimes bad people find me. For example, a lot of people who followed (past tense) me were obsessed with Muslims, and I didn't want that energy around me. Hence I deliberately provoked them. I drove away over 10,000 followers with one Tweet.

Simple ways to get blocked - Telling me I'm wrong (when you missed the point) - Repeating basic talking points you got from TV - Typing while in a bad mood (I can feel that energy) People email me every day asking to be unblocked. Not being able to read Cernovich is a loss.

I can attest to that. You had no reason to give me the time of the day (status-wise), yet you did and keep doing it.

I was thinking abut this just today... I notice that big profiles talk to each other, but barely acknowledge the ones with few followers. Feels like a popularity platform. Even a like from someone I look up to, makes my day.

Mike always finds time for a response, when appropriate. A simple”thank you” is enough.

Beautiful Twitter philosophy, and great way to avoid an echo chamber effect. As long as people are respectful on a very basic level, they've got a fair shot at engagement.
