Yep. Shauna and I went to A Star is Born. $50 with tickets and soda. How much is child care? We have extended family. Most don’t. Is it worth $100 or more to watch a film in theatre? When most “movies” aren’t better than video blogs on YouTube.https://twitter.com/AmericanSoWoke/status/1104176000219308033 …

This is the fence-sitting answer of a man who wants to remain in Steven’s good graces. He’s done business with DreamWorks/Amblin previously. Buried lede: A night out at the movies is too expensive for a lot of people, and they don’t care. https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1104174119803740160 …

It is not worth it for me to take 3 boys to the movies and buy each a drink and a snack and be over $100 out of pocket. We typically wait to buy it on google play watch at home

$180 a week for child care for me. Very rarely is there a movie good enough to go to a theatre to see. Waiting the 3 months for a movie to hit on-demand is no problem.

Market opportunity for low-cost single theaters showing favorites from 20th century?

Our local chain in Wisconsin runs classic films from the 20th century and they do real well. I bet you a single screen theatre or two screen theatre could do quite well running old movies.

I see one movie in the theater every week, to me it's a great night out. It also means I see a lot of meh movies, but for $11 it's a decent spend vs return. My wife doesn't care to go to movies ever, but adult kids can watch the little ones for us.

Many of us are fortunate enough to have an entertainment budget and competition for its usage must be calculated in. What else could $50.00 do? Creativity now enters the picture. House votes count too.

The physical experience of seeing a film in a theater, can’t be matched at home. Financially, it’s much more convenient from my couch. But I will go to the movies to see something special. Like, Free Solo in IMAX, that was spectacular

No way. I'll watch at home. My husband and son go to the theatre tho. Only because the movies they're into are in 3D.

Did you see it in Dolby Surround Sound on a huge screen where you can feel the seats vibrate and recline? If so, YES it's worth it. Especially since the music is so good.

I have no problems pirating films and paying for the ones that don't suck for my legal collection. I really do this.
