This is wrong - it sounds like you've never been near one lol. All those colleges offer free tuition for parents making less than ~$90k. Free room and board for all four years. Literally cheaper than community college

I think you should re-examine your "rich brat professors" assumption. "Ivory Tower" or "ungrounded in reality" would be more apt. Many were students of the "unintentional faculty" generation, those who sought advanced degrees to avoid the Vietnam era draft: aka "administrators".
