  Yup! I'm a recovering actor, back in the day, I befriended those at the same auditions as me. A lot became successful, and as a loyal friend, I'd attend their events, push their projects. Years ago when I was fired w/ no money, no place to live, MOST I asked for help ignored me.

  Same thing for musicians. I’m used to it now but man when my first real album came out 11 years ago (when having an album come out was still kind of a big deal) I was shocked that certain folks in my inner circle bent over backwards to avoid acknowledging the achievement.

  Same with a home-based business. Good friends will not support your endeavors. It’s like they think they’ll get trapped into something they can’t get out of or afraid you’ll bug them to death about it. Better to ignore. Really hurts.
