36 hour fast to start with, then a 20 hour fast with 4 hour eating window. You learn a lot about yourself during fasts.

Keeping my carbs at 50 grams or so. I don’t like being in ketosis. Keto was big back when Dan Duchaine was around. Too many side effects for me, but others love it. Lyle McDonald has the best dieting books for thinking people who want to know the why.https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Diet-2-0-Lyle-McDonald/dp/0967145627 …

As a functional medicine/naturopathic medical doctor, I approve... just start with low doses and increase slowly... upregulation of glutathione and increased detox can increase mood changes. Deal with any sluggish bowels before adding NAC.

Agreed. I fasted for 72 hours about 3 months ago and felt so clean. So much clarity. The benefits of fasting are insane. Everyone should fast once in awhile. Maybe not 72 hours but 24 hours isn’t too tough.

Daily NAC is very good idea. Helps protect the liver, I wouldn’t drink without taking NAC. Also, take Vitamin C with your NAC to prevent oxidation of the NAC.

True. NAC is used in hospitals after Tylenol overdose to boost glutathione. Guess what else saps glutathione? Booze. I up NAC before and after drinking- seems to help.
