36 hour fast to start with, then a 20 hour fast with 4 hour eating window. You learn a lot about yourself during fasts.

While fasting, as with all days, I take a NAD+ supplement. I've been using NAD+ for years, the improvement are too subtle for most to notice, though my reflexes improved dramatically after 6 months.https://www.cernovich.com/basis-elysium-nicotinamide-riboside-pterostilbene-anti-aging-review/ …

Two grams of N-A-C (N-acetylcysteine) daily as well. Most people who are "depressed" don't realize it's due to inflammation. Doctors don't know about N-A-C because there's no money in it. Costs around $10 a month. Many studies show effectiveness.https://www.cernovich.com/n-acetylcysteine-depression-bipolar-anxiety/ …

Keeping my carbs at 50 grams or so. I don’t like being in ketosis. Keto was big back when Dan Duchaine was around. Too many side effects for me, but others love it. Lyle McDonald has the best dieting books for thinking people who want to know the why.https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Diet-2-0-Lyle-McDonald/dp/0967145627 …

You just think clearly and make better decisions when fasting. Fasting is about your mindset not food. You don’t need as much food as you think you do.

Could I also add that sugar & carbs are very much like a drug. I've found avoiding these two things alone in my life have lightened my weight, mood and anxiety

You did a good job of articulating that. I just did a 24 hour fast the other day after 3 days of only meat. This is 100% true.

So you do drink some water and also soft drinks (non sugar of course). Any particular frequency? Does it mean you can exercise (low pace)?

Why put yourself in the situation where you have to fast in the first place (if not for religious reasons) when you could work out say 4 times a week and keep a good year round diet?

Including running (long distance) while fasting?

I fast a lot as well. I have noticed that when I do, it is best if I avoid Twitter. Twitter acts like an Energy Vampire, and when I see ridiculous posts, it literally drains my energy, strength, and peace away. You don't realize how detrimental social media can be until you fast

I've done two 72 hour fasts during the last year. I intend on making it a semi annual thing. I'll pay closer attention to my emotions next time through. All I really remember was the second fast being much easier than the first one.

Nailed it. I get those acute, polarizing feelings when fasting 20+ hours. Being technically unsatiated is good for the soul and clarity.
